FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How can I determine if you would be a good fit for me or my family? Do you offer a free consultation?

The suitability of therapy for yourself or your child is extremely important. To ensure that I am the right fit, I offer a complimentary 15-20 minute consultation call. During this call, we can discuss your concerns and assess whether I would be an appropriate therapist for your needs.

What is the process to get started in therapy?

Prior to starting therapy, you will complete an intake process:

For adult clients, the intake process involves a 60-minute clinical interview where we discuss your concerns, strengths, and personal history before starting treatment. Together, we will establish mutually agreed-upon therapy goals.

For child and adolescent clients, the intake process spans three sessions. It initiates with a 60-minute clinical interview with the parents, during which we explore your concerns for your child, their strengths, and their developmental history. Subsequently, I will spend an additional 45 minutes with your child in a separate session to build rapport, assess their motivation for treatment, and gauge their level of insight regarding their strengths and challenges. The final intake session entails a feedback meeting with the parents to review clinical impressions and finalize treatment goals. Following the feedback session, therapy with your child will begin.

Do you offer virtural therapy? Hybrid options for therapy?

I provide both in-person and virtual therapy services. In addition to providing in-person and telehealth therapy (virtual therapy) to residents of New York State, I am licensed to offer telehealth therapy in the state of Florida. My approach is flexible, allowing for virtual sessions when necessary or a hybrid model.

It's important to note that virtual therapy may not be suitable for children and adolescents due to various factors. This evaluation takes place during the intake process and the initial virtual therapy sessions. If I determine that virtual therapy may not be appropriate for a child, I will communicate this to the parents and collaborate to determine the most appropriate course of action moving forward.

How long are the sessions? What are your fees?

Typically, individual therapy sessions are 45 minutes in duration. Associated fees will be discussed during the consultation phone call.

Do you accept insurance?

No, I am an out of network provider. I provide invoices and superbills for insurance reimbursement on a monthly basis.
